KC Girlfriends Book Club Radio Show History
The KC Girlfriends Book Club Radio Show began February 28, 2008 as a means to connect the
members of the book club to more of the authors that the book club were meeting.
The KC Girlfriends Book Club is known for reading predominantly new and underexposed
authors. TaNisha Webb, president of the KC Girlfriends Book Club, felt that the rest of the
world should get to know more about the wonderful authors that the book club was reading and
wanted to help the authors gain more exposure by offering these new authors a platform in order
to do just that.
Radio shows are an hour long and air on Monday nights at 8:30 PM EST.

We air about 2-3 shows per month. Some months we may not air as many shows, depending on
how busy the KC Girlfriends Book Club and/or TaNisha's schedule is for the month. Authors
that have their book chosen as a BOTM selection by the KC Girlfriends Book Club will
automatically get an invitation to appear on the radio show.
Radio Show Appearance Requirements
1. Published Book Date: The book must be published within the last 12 months and no more
than 18 months old.
2. Book Availability: Book must be available for purchase on a major online book store i.e.
Amazon (preferably), Barnes & Noble, Borders, or Books-a-Million etc. If the author offers the
book on their website we will mention it on the air.
How Are Appearances Selected:
Radio show appearances are left up to the discretion of TaNisha Webb, host of the radio show
and president of the KC Girlfriends Book Club. All books are read by TaNisha prior to the radio
show appearance. Books are considered based on the KC Girlfriends Book Club review process
which includes: book presentation, book price, character development, storyline, and editing.

order to determine an author's appearance on the show.
What to Submit:
Before an author submits a hard copy book for consideration, please submit the first 3-5 chapters
of the book via email. This will save the author from sending a book that may not be chosen.
TaNisha will then read the chapters and email the author and have them mail a hard copy of the
book if the book is chosen to be on the show. E-books will not be accepted. Once the author has
been notified about an interest in placing them on the show, they will be asked to submit a book.
Once the book is received, a date will be scheduled.
Show Appearances:
It is the responsibility of the author to help promote their appearance on the radio show. We
will do our part to promote your appearance but your fans should always be updated so they can
support you as well. If your book is available on Amazon, a picture of the cover and the direct
link to the book will be accessible to all listeners to purchase the book, even in the archives.

an email address to send the chapters to TaNisha. Place this in the subject line of your email:
